4. Knee pain? Try wall squats.
As the saying goes, “Old age starts with the legs.” The knee joint is one of the largest and most frequently used joints in our body. It bears the weight of our body every day and is most susceptible to wear and tear. Therefore, protecting the knees is crucial. One simple method is to try wall squats every day. Imagine the feeling of sitting on a chair, lean your back against the wall, place your feet shoulder-width apart, and try to keep your lower legs as vertical as possible to the ground. Your body, thighs, and lower legs should form a 90-degree angle. Hold for 5-10 seconds, then stand up and repeat several times until you’re tired. Wall squats have many benefits, making the knee joints more stable and robust, making them suitable for people who sit for prolonged periods and those who are not fond of exercising.

5. Heimlich maneuver for different age groups.
In life, both infants and adults may face the danger of choking on foreign objects. Once the airway is blocked, it can cause difficulty in breathing and lack of oxygen to the brain, leaving little time for rescue. Therefore, everyone should learn the Heimlich maneuver, which can save the lives of children and oneself.

For Adults:

Stand behind the patient.Place your arms around the patient’s waist from behind, with one hand making a fist and pressing it against the lower edge of the ribs, just above the navel. Use the other hand to grasp the fist.Quickly and forcefully thrust inward and upward to create a strong airflow that dislodges the blockage in the airway and throat.Repeat the above steps until the foreign object is expelled.

For Children (2 years and older):

Stand behind the child.Place your hands on the child’s abdomen and sternum, with one hand making a fist and the other hand covering the fist.Squeeze the arms tightly and instantly compress the child’s chest.Repeat the compression several times until the airway obstruction is relieved.

For Infants (under 1 year old):

Hold the infant’s jawbone with one hand and keep your arm against the front of the infant’s chest.Hold the baby while placing them face down on the rescuer’s knee.Firmly pat the infant’s back between the shoulder blades five times.Turn the baby over and place two fingers (index and middle finger) on the lower half of the infant’s breastbone. Apply five downward chest compressions.Repeat the above steps until the object is expelled.

Note: The Heimlich maneuver should only be performed by individuals who have been trained in the proper technique. If someone is choking, seek immediate medical assistance.

6. A light diet ≠ vegetarianism, but rather reducing oil, salt, and sugar intake.
Whenever one has a cold, fever, or digestive discomfort, or when recovering from a serious illness, there is always advice to eat a lighter diet. Many people instinctively avoid meat and fish and reduce their consumption of oil, salt, and sugar. However, this approach can ultimately lead to a weakened immune system and make one more susceptible to viral infections. In fact, a scientifically balanced light diet does not mean consuming only clear soups and plain water. The key is to reduce oil, sugar, and salt intake. It is important to have a well-rounded diet that includes fish, meat, eggs, dairy products, whole grains, vegetables, and fruits.
