Beef stew is a beloved dish among the people of Belgium. The beef is stewed until tender in Belgian beer, creating a sauce that is rich in flavor. Served with crispy fries and mayonnaise, it is incredibly delicious. Not only loved by Belgians, but it also appeals to the taste of the Chinese. Almost all Belgian restaurants feature this dish on their menus, and it is especially popular in traditional taverns.

When Belgium is mentioned, people always think of chocolate. Belgian chocolate, with its smooth and delicate flavor passed down for centuries, has captivated the hearts of many, earning Belgium the title of the “Chocolate Kingdom.” To make chocolate even more delicious, Belgians spare no effort in adding ingredients such as hazelnuts, raisins, and alcohol. Among all chocolates, liquor-filled chocolates are unique, as their intense flavor of alcohol seamlessly blends with the chocolate, leaving a mouthful of fragrance that is intoxicating. Walking through Brussels, the scent of chocolate fills the streets and alleys, making it impossible to resist this irresistible temptation.

Waffles, also known as grid cakes, originated in 1958 when Belgian Walter Cleyman introduced them to Seattle, leading to their popularity in North America. The batter is poured into a waffle iron with grids, creating a waffle with a checkered pattern. There are two types of waffles in Belgium: Brussels waffles, which are rectangular and thin, and Liege waffles, which are irregularly round and have added pearl sugar, giving them a slightly harder texture but are more common on the streets. Freshly baked waffles are the most delicious, and they can be enjoyed with chocolate sauce, cream, caramel, ice cream, fruit, and more.
